Here are some of my ideas for the typographic post card assignment so far.
With this idea i just wanted to use a bunch of different sized Bembo words and then i wanted to add in a mask of big words saying Bembo in the middle that will be see through to create a cool effect. The only problem with this idea at the moment is the choice of variants of colour as I’m trying to make the colour suit in with the text as the typeface was originally cut and used in 1495 and then was revived in 1929, so i wanted the colours to suit both time zones. So far i don’t think this will be heading towards my final piece as i personally don’t find it eye-catching and old fashioned enough for with the specific typeface i got.
Here is another postcard idea that i have came up with. it is nearly the same with the previous idea but instead i went for the big font approach covering the entire page. also i added a paper texture upon the typeface as an experiment to see what it looks like.
Here is another idea that i initially had where i use a image of something old and represents the resemblance of type in the history in the background with a dark colour correction to set the correct mood for the postcard/image. i think this could lead to one of my final postcard ideas but instead with a different picture that i took of something to do with how serif fonts were initially handmade.
